    Superintendent's Message

    November 2, 2018

The first part of the 2018-2019 academic year has flown by, with the start of November bringing a time for reflection on all we have accomplished so far this year and hopeful anticipation as we look ahead to all that is to come.

With the Thanksgiving season right around the corner, we realize we have so much to be thankful for this year. Our Azusa and Gladstone high school bands started their season with two 1st place wins each, two of our high school athletes received the CIF Champions of Character award and during Red Ribbon Week celebrations our elementary school students committed to being drug and alcohol-free.

As we reflect on these accomplishments, I want to take this opportunity to share just a few things I am personally thankful for. I am thankful for teachers, support staff and administrators who come to school each day prepared to help students learn while providing a safe, caring environment to help our students grow. Our teaching staff is dedicated not only to student achievement but to ensuring that each child has the support they need to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.  I am thankful for our students who come to school daily, ready to engage in the learning process and excel each day of their academic journey. I am thankful for the joy they bring, their presence in our classrooms serves as a daily reminder that they are the priority and why we are here. I am thankful to our community and to the parents of our students who support our schools and our district in many meaningful ways that are integral to the success of our students.

We are surrounded by dedicated staff, parents and community members who partner with us to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. As we move closer to the season of thanks, I find I am exceedingly thankful to be part of the Azusa Unified School District.

    Linda Kaminski, Ed.D.
