Technology Resource Center

One of the outcomes of the now concluded ATLAS (Advancing Technology Literacy for Azusa Students) Project is The Technology Resource Center (TRC).  The purpose of the TRC is to support student learning and achievement. There is strong emphasis on the integration of technology into the core curriculum.

 Professional Development

The motto of instructional technology in Azusa Unified has been, “It is not about computers. It is about learning and making connections.” To this end, instructional technology professional development focuses on two key elements. First, sessions include the investigation of effective classroom practices.  The second focus is the use of technology in the classroom.

The district has a variety of professional development opportunities for teachers. Fliers are sent to school sites as these opportunities become available.

 School Site Professional Development

TRC staff is available by appointment to provide professional development at school sites. We will work with site staff to tailor sessions to specific site needs.

The Facility

The Technology Resource Center, which is home to Azusa Unified School District’s instructional technology professional development programs, is located in the portables on the north side of the district office. When not being used for technology professional development, the TRC is available for other site and district professional development functions. Schools may sign up to bring students to the TRC to work on special projects. The facility houses a computer lab of 42 wireless, Internet connected, notebook computers, available for use at the TRC to all A.U.S.D. teachers and students.   The T.R.C. has movable tables that can be arranged to accommodate a variety of professional development needs.

The TRC also has a wide variety of equipment available for use on and/or off site on a checkout basis, including:

  • Video Cameras and Tripods
  • Still Cameras
  • 2 LCD Projectors
  • 1 Document Camera
  • Assorted Software
