New California Standards

The New California Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them.

The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our students need for success in college and careers.  With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.

More information is available from the California Department of Education.

Educational Services

Our instructional program prepares students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Azusa Unified has high expectations for students. Programs such as GATE and AVID offer valuable enrichment activities. Both Azusa High and Gladstone High offer a great selection of Advanced Placement classes and Honors classes, and Azusa High is now an International Baccalaureate (IB) school.

Sierra High, designated once again in 2018 as a "Model Continuation School" by the State of California, is one of only a few continuation schools to offer AP classes.

Azusa schools continue to make gains on statewide tests, and our graduation rate continues to exceed both the state and national averages.
